Thank you so much for signing up for the first ever National Golfathon. You are a part of making history. You will not only undertake the challenge of playing 100 holes of golf in one day, you will also have a great time while raising money for your favorite charity. Your mission is to raise pledges per hole. Your goal is $25 per hole. That could be 25 people giving you $1 per hole or some combination. You can ask for any amount, from 25 cents to $5 per hole. Then play 100 holes of golf in one day. You can do this. We will have the whole golf course to our self, only 40 golfers on the course. You will easily finish 18 holes in 2 1/2 hours. Collecting Pledges – We suggest that you approach everyone that you know, friends, family, colleges, neighbors and let them know that you will sacrifice your body and play 100 holes of golf in one day for your favorite charity. You will ask them to pledge a small amount per hole for your efforts. Once they have committed to a pledge, you will enter their name, email and credit card number in the website. Once you have completed playing golf that day, you will enter the number of holes played. The amount that they have pledged will be deducted from their credit card. A receipt will be emailed to them and the amount will be fully tax deductible. Golfing – Be ready for a long day. You will arrive at the golf course around 6:00am and tee off at 6:30am. You will get your own golf cart (with your name on it) and you will play non-stop until you have finished at least 100 holes, usually 6:00pm. Everyone gets their own cart. If you would like to bring a caddy to drive the cart, that would be great (friend, spouse or family member). It will help the time go by faster. If 100 holes by yourself is too much….call Lisa Miller, PGA Master Professional at 286-5544 for another option. Incentives – We want you to do your best and raise as much money as you can for your charity. So we are offering you incentives every step of the way….these are for golfers who are ‘on-line” raising pledges (tag team members will not be eligible for prizes).
